Career & College Promise (“CCP”) is North Carolina’s dual enrollment program for high school students. This program allows eligible NC high school students to enroll in college classes at North Carolina community colleges for FREE while remaining enrolled at their high school. Students who successfully complete college courses can earn college credit that can transfer to other post-secondary institutions after graduation from high school.
Students can only take the courses in their selected pathway. If students register for classes outside of their pathway, the college will drop those class(es). Students can be in two Career and Technical Pathways at one time OR one Career and Technical Pathway and one Transfer pathway at one time. You may pick one pathway only as well. There will be no pathway changes once the semester starts. You will have to wait until the next semester enrollment period to change your pathway.

CCP Checkpoint: New students will have to complete this BEFORE they can register for classes (Step #6). This will be moving to a Brightspace Class that is open to all new students. Students must take the quiz to receive credit for completion. Returning students do not need to do this!

The Ardrey Kell Career & College Promise program application window for the Spring 2025 semester will open 9/10/24. Eligible students may apply through November 14th. All students will automatically be enrolled for the Spring and Summer 2025 sessions as well. There will be another opportunity in February to sign up for the 2025-26 school year. It is highly recommended that students complete the application process by the Priority Registration deadlines listed below, in order to secure preferred classes, times, and locations.
CCP Spring 2025 Enrollment Dates
AK students new to Dual Enrollment must complete steps 1-6 by September 25th for Spring priority registration which will begin on October 21st.
The final deadline to enroll into the Dual Enrollment program is November 14th. Once enrolled, students can register for classes up until they start depending on availability.

Before you begin the process of enrolling in the Career and College Promise program, it is crucial that you learn all of the details of the program. The best way to get a comprehensive look at Career and College Promise is attending an info session . It is not required, however suggested. Parents and students are encouraged to attend!
A special Career and College Promise application is required for all career and college promise students. Please click on the blue button for instructions on how to apply using CFNC.org. Once we have processed your application, you will receive an admissions letter by email from this email address: ccp@cpcc.edu . This letter will include your student ID number. You will need your student ID number when creating your Central Piedmont login. If you do not receive an email with your student ID within three business days of submitting your Career and College Promise application, please check your junk or spam email folder. If it is not there, please email ccp@cpcc.edu inquiring about the status of your application.
Participation in Career and College requires a copy of most recent high school transcripts are on file. A CFNC username/password will need to be created:
Once you get the email with your ID number (step 2), claim and activate your student login account . (If you have trouble activating your account, contact the ITS Help Desk or a student success navigator.) Your Central Piedmont login is also your Central Piedmont email.

At least an hour after creating your Central Piedmont login, you'll be able to use your login to access your student email account, personal information, and academic records; register for classes; view and pay your bills; and log on to Central Piedmont computers.
Once you have access, it's very important that you go into the account management portal and add a secondary email to help you access your account if you ever forget your password. You can then reset your password anytime using the "Forgot Password?" option in the account management portal .
Your Central Piedmont email is the college's official means of communicating with you. Check your Central Piedmont student email every day to make sure you don't miss important messages from us, your instructors, advisors, the Cashier's office, campus alerts, and more.
Ardrey Kell students must complete the AK Application to determine your eligibility for participation in Career and College Promise. This counts as your meeting with Mr. Webb and he will notify Central Piedmont of your eligibility after the Ardrey Kell application is complete. AK students must complete the AK Application prior to enrolling in Career and College Promise for any subsequent school year. Students can fill out this form prior to every semester if they would like to change their pathway.
6. Complete Checkpoint (New CPCC Students) New Process 3/25/2024
Dual enrollment students are required to complete a mandatory orientation, called Checkpoint. Once complete, please take the Checkpoint quiz so we have record that you have completed this step. You are responsible for this information. CPCC is now using Brightpace for the presentation. Students must have completed their login verification before they can access Brightspace. You only need to complete this and the accompanying quiz once during your time as a Career & College Promise dual enrollment student.
Please allow two business days for scores to be entered in our database. You will not be able to register for classes your first semester until your passing quiz results are entered into our database.
If you do not have a 2.8 GPA and you do not meet the minimum qualifications on a test you have already taken, you will need the Central Piedmont Placement test. Students can take the test by appointment only on any of our six campuses at no charge. Students are encouraged to review the practice test on the website to study and prepare for the test.

9. Complete Tutorial for Online Classes (Now Optional)
Once your CDC/counselor has officially submitted your eligibility and pathway, it will be processed by Central Piedmont. Please allow 5 to 7 business days from the date of submission for processing during open enrollment times. Once processed, you will receive an email to your Central Piedmont student email account indicating when you are ready to register for classes, after which you may register for classes online using Student Planning in MyCollege. You may only register for courses from your approved pathway; otherwise, you will be considered out of pathway and will be dropped from the course(s).
Even though the program is tuition-free for the fall, spring, and summer semesters, there are still fees to be paid. CMS students will be responsible for student fees during the summer semesters. Student fees must be paid before the first day of the semester to prevent being dropped from the elected courses. Check your balance and pay your bill through your MyCollege account. Your Central Piedmont student ID serves as your library card and may be used in the community for a variety of discounts. Even if you are only taking online classes, you need a student ID. You will need to bring a photo ID in order to obtain a student ID card.
